8/24/2021 - The Botetourt County Board of Supervisors approved a Resolution regarding Norvel Lee stating "that Botetourt County will work with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to construct and erect the monument to pay tribute to the legacy of this great native of Botetourt County."

8/12/2021 - At a regular meeting of the Fincastle (Virginia) Town Council a Resolution in Recognition of Norvel Lee was approved.
